Taiwan is the ideal destination for many readers here. As there are a lot of stunning sceneries around Taiwan locating in Taipei, Taichung, or Kaosioung. Tons of places here are worth to see as the interesting stores, parks, museums are hardly being forgotten.
I actually visited Taiwan in 2018 when I was an undergrad student at that time. I did not have much money back then. Hence most of things in Taiwan I cannot afford. However, this time, i am working at the moment. Hence I can support the things that I would like to have so I can go as many places that I would like to go. However, during pandemic, we have seen from several things that there are a lot of uncertainty in our life. Company may announce retrenchment which makes me unemployed. We cannot predict what kind of situation that we may face. Hence, we have to be prepared for unforeseen circumstances. And by that during my time in Taiwan, I unwillingly remind myself that I cannot spend more than 30,000 NTD for Taiwan trip for 4 days. And yet, It is possible as I was accompanied by my friends, so lots of things are shared with each other such as accommodation, food and etc.
We decided to fly over to Taiwan on 17th February 2023 and fly back to Thailand on 20th February 2023. It was a short period but many things occured making memorable time. On my first day, we were urgently going to Taichung as we have many plans to do there including go to Sun Moon Lake, Feng Chia Night Market, Miyahara ice cream and etc. Taking THST costs me 700 NTD to Taichung. Once arrived, we faced cold weather. It might not be that cold compare to Europe but it is still cold for Thai people. and by that, I ordered one cup of black tea on the train.
I would say that having hot tea while seeing the scenery in Taiwan was stunning. Everything that locate next to THSR stations are worth to see and worth to visit. You, readers, can see that outside of windows are fields and houses in Taiwan. And I was lucky enough that I was not experiencing any rain during trip in Taichung not Taipei :)
When I arrived in Taichung, I was surprised as Shin Sei Waterway is pretty close to my hotel. It was like 200 metres from my hotel. I was planning to be there and taking lots of photos.
During the trip in Taichung. I am gladly surprised by everything even though, It was my second time in Taichung. The weather, sunshine and architecture is 100% awesome. Pictures below are taken in Sun Moon Lake when there was only few people visiting.
The pictures can show you that Sun Moon Lake is good for taking photos and taking a breath or even stay for a few nights as you will have a good time and a nice view from your hotel. and not just only that the food there is also yummy. I have never forgotten how I love ru lou fan there. this time, I also suggested my friends to have lunch there as well. Taxi to Sun Moon Lake was 400 NTD and the tour cruise costs 300 NTD. and the food there costs me 500 NTD
The bus taking me back to city Centre cost me around 255 NTD and took me to the place I stayed. From my point of view, public transportation in Taichung is very convenient and we can take only public transportation to travel in Taichung easily. Once arrived to Taichung Station, we were hurry to grab famous ice cream which is Miyahara ice cream. I am personally not a fan of ice cream but I like ice cream here especially the variety of ice cream which is hard to get. When I was there last time, there was tons of people lining up and therefore, I cannot eat last time. But this time, we were lucky enough to have ice cream here. It cost me 199 NTD.
Overall, I am so thrilled to visit in Taichung and It created amazing memory to my mind. Taichung is such a big city but still calm and peaceful. And not only that public transportation is amazingly impressed. I can visit a lot of places in Taichung by using bus, skytrain and etc. Aside from that food is also yummy such as Ru lou fan, bubble tea. I believe that if you eat all the things looking yummy, you can gain weight easily.
Total expense is 2970 NTD for two days and one night. So to speak, having a chance to use sweater in Taiwan was satisfied as we rarely use sweater in Thailand. Somehow, I still have to use umbrella and raincoat in Taiwan. The weather is unpredictable.
