North food meets South Food in a day, Thailand

Good day everyone! In Thailand, It is so hot nowadays. It reached to 40 Degree Celsius at my place. However, we are not jus having a bad weather in Thailand but we also have the other good side of Thailand as well. and you might have guessed in right! and It is Thai food.

In your country, I am quite sure that you have tried the notable food such as Tom Yum Kung, Gang Khiaowan and etc. And you might be familiar with those food already. But this blog will have the other side of dishes. Thailand is quite big in size comparison and also you can see from the map. But it is not just only the area but we also have the food difference from each part of Thailand as well.

I am from central part of Thailand. Therefore, I am used to Tom Yum Kung. But I am not familiar with other part of food though. This blog will show you about the North food and south food.

Lets start with North food. When I was in Chiang Mai, I was so impressed by Khao Soi which is local food. and I have tried several Khaosoi all over places that I have visited. Hence, I am going to explain how Khaosoi taste.

Khaosoi contains fried noodle and chicken. The soup made from local ingredients. The soup can be salty and a little bit spicy. Just to warn you, be careful of your shirt when eating Khaosoi as It will stain on your shirt eternity haha. We have side dishes with Khaosoi as well such as chili paste and also the vegetable. The best Khaosoi I have eaten was in Chiang Mai, Thailand where it is originally from. It is amazingly tasteful. And also have tried Gang Hanglay.

Kaeng hang le. I know It has high calories because It has braised belly pork and etc. But I still recommend you guys to give it a try. The soup will be a little bit salty and also it has herbal scent. Hence, You can feel the northern food by eating this.

You can try this dish mostly in Northern part of Thailand. and lets move to southern part of Thailand to try southern part food as well.  I personally love southern food more than any foods. As It will be spicy and tasteful as well. And the food that I would recommend you is Thai Pork Belly Stew - Moo Hong. It comes from Phuket where is the island located in south part of Thailand. It was the first time I tried it. But I would say it is worth for the price and also the waiting time for this dish.

Based on the picture, It might not look good but I would say It is very tasty. The belly stew was juicy and also It is a little bit sweet. Hence, It is completely different from Kaeng hang le. I am sure that when you have two dishes together. You, foreigner, can differentiate the taste of it easily.

The bellow stew is not just oily but also they put local sauce into it. It has similarity with Chinese food as well. As lots of people in Phuket came from China. They might adapt with local food as well.
I was trying to watch out my figure but after having a taste. I ate it all. I hope you enjoy this blog and next blog, I will write more contents to show Thailand. See you next blog.
